Relief line and liquid ammonia 0 D. Flick Wouldn’t you know at our last round table meeting we discussed the problem of weeping relief valves filling the relief vent lines with liquid ammonia and just this week that is exactly what we experienced at our facility. This presents a problem as to how to get the ammonia out of the pipe so you can replace the valve. Is it permissible to  install a vent valve in a relief line to allow the removal of trapped refrigerant?
