The Safety Day theme, "Prevent Them All or Stop Them Small”, is focused on liquefied gases such as ammonia, chlorine, and hydrogen chloride, which are highly used in the Bay Area.

Agenda topics will include:

  • Keynote message by Chairperson Vanessa Allen Sutherland of the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board

  • NH3 and Cl2 the same, but different - Lessons re-learned over the past 50+ years

  • Profitable Real-Time Safety by Dr. Peter Martin

  • The first 30 minutes response to the top five liquefied gases used in the Bay Area

  • Executive Order 13650 – New programs and expectations

  • PG&E Electric and Gas Hazard Board Demonstrations

  • Chevron Incident – Lessons Learned

Organizers and speakers volunteer their time; sponsors and exhibitors pay the cost of food, facilities, and materials. This allows us to put on the Safety Day for free.

Please let us know if you can participate as a sponsor or exhibitor. For more information, please contact Debra Montanez at (831) 453-7102 or email at
