I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend! We have a couple exciting opportunities coming this month.
Firstly, our “near-ish” neighbors in TriCities are hosting a 2.5 day CARO/CIRO training class. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone studying for their exam or for operators looking for a chance to review and keep themselves informed on proper operation. Sorry for the last minute notice on this but if you are interested please take a look at the review class notice for more info on how to sign up and the class description for info on the content of the class.
We had a great November meeting on high speed doors that was well attended. A special thanks to Henry Griffith with Cascade Energy for arranging for Dave Zerr from Arbon Equipment to teach us all about the newest Door technology. We’ve all had the unpleasant task of thawing out frozen evaporators due to broken freezer doors and this was the very first time in our chapters history, we have ever had a meeting on just doors.
Many Thanks to and Jim Klee with PermaCold Engineering for providing the food and meeting space.
Although this is a busy time of year with Christmas just around the corner, your Chapter officers have a special Christmas treat that you do not want to miss. Our meeting this month is at Portland’s last, local factory that manufactures ammonia refrigeration products – Cornell Pump Company. For This months meeting we will be touring their manufacturing facility, seeing a presentation on their latest seal-less ammonia pumps, and receiving a demonstration on how to replace the shaft seals in their 2CB pump.
For more info please see the December meeting notice and if you plan to attend please RSVP to me so we can make sure to have food and refreshments.
Special Christmas Pizza by Flying Pie Pizza Co.
Christmas Cookies will be provided by our Chapter President - Mark Knox- who has volunteered to provide them.

After our meeting, you should have plenty of time to stop at Clackamas Town Center, just a few miles away, after the meeting to put a nice gift under the tree. If, she says “I don’t really want anything this year”, make sure that you do not listen to her and spend extra.
RETA Shopping Tip - Think Jewelry. She will keep it forever and it appreciates in value.
